REFLECTIVE CONSTRUCTION 2013

Fascinated by that point where construction turns to destruction, I created large sculptures of glass with the sole intent to capture the drama of that moment of the inevitable, joyful smash and destruction with the medium of photography in one still image

During a residency at North Lands Glass, funded by the Royal Scottish Academy, I learned specialist glass-blowing techniques and using my newly-acquired skills, I created organic shapes out of glass which reflected light from every angle, distorting and multiplying the subject (myself) to explode with reflecting shards flying through the air. `

These photographs are shot using the dusk light of the dramatic Caithness sky as a backdrop.
